She did pretty good. Needs a skid plate tho, if not for lack of clearance than just for my peace of mind. Nothing like a mid corner “0h shit oh shit oh shit” when you see a big rock aiming for your oil pan. Also the left, front lower control arm bushing is shot, which makes right handers scary. It already clunks on big bumps, but when that corner is loaded up, and you hit a bump it’s not exactly comfortable.

Can confirm logging roads being awesome.

Indeed, at one point I saw a big puddle it stretched across the whole road, so no avoiding it, and no wayto stay out to the ruts other than just guessing where they should be. So my only thought “speed up, power through it”
It was deeper than I thought, but not a problem.

Dirt roads are hilarious in my Miata with coilovers and no ground clearance because they are scary at 5mph let alone any reasonable speed. I take my car up to Vermont for skiing sometimes and its funny driving past other people while going down rutted, washboard roads and such with the top down. Every turn I enter rally driver mode.

These pictures don’t really do the road justice because they’re dashcam snaps—oh well.
Lots of washboard. And in the rain. Just gravelpuddlegravelpuddle.
Stuff like this to warn drivers of obstables...
You can’t really tell, but that patch starting from the right that looks a little different is a significant dip. That I hit. We were wondering what the red-flagged bucket was doing in the middle of the road... we found out :)
Just past the crest on a hill, ran into this. Again, pictures don’t do justice. It was actually a decent downhill slope, and the rocks were very loose. One option—power out.
Such a rush though, all in all. 10/10 would do again.

Yup, even in my car I get weird looks from guys in lifted pickups. Of course they wouldn’t know my car is AWD but still. I can imagine it would be even more fun in a Miata.

It would be more fun with at least a little bit of ground clearance. Just need to get one of those lift kits lol. That crunching sound my rocker panels make and the bottom of the car scraping on stuff are both quite off-putting. And the high spring rates make the bumpy parts feel dangerous at like sub 5 mph but thats kinda fun in a masochistic way.
